Bright Horizons Scrum Master II in Newton, Massachusetts

This is a hybrid role in our Newton, MA office

Lead initiatives in a hybrid delivery framework. Coordinate and coach team on Agile values and principles and Scrum framework, to ensure a functional, productive and efficient team. Support Product Owner, working with team to manage product backlog, perform a subset of traditional Project Management duties, provide project support and product deliverables and support the work of the team by facilitating project planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives. Actively identify and remove impediments to ensure timely completion of projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, backlog refinement, demos and other Scrum-related activities.

  • Perform some Project Manager specific duties as needed (status reporting, implementation vendor management, etc.)

  • Coach agile teams and communicating agile concepts and benefits to the team and stakeholders while taking a pragmatic/flexible Agile approach when required.

  • Tracks and communicates progress metrics and performance to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Responsible for removing impediments and guiding the team to remove impediments.

  • Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and managing the product backlog.

  • Provide project and/or product deliverables including kickoff presentations, project plans, status reports and deployment plans.

What we hope you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field required.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Project Management experience and 5+ years of IT specific experience required.

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM or CSP, PSM) required.

  • Must have excellent communication, facilitation, conflict management and mentoring skills.

  • SAFe certification preferred.

  • Must have experience as a Project Manager and a Scrum Master

  • Must have experience with Agile project management tools.

  • Agile DevOps experience preferred.

  • Should have knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.

  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc).

  • Experience with independently transitioning technical implementation teams from Waterfall to a variation of agile process in the past.

  • Aptitude to follow technical discussions and bridge communications between product managers and developers

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and with teams
