Part-time Weekend Hospital and Admissions Nurse Liaison

Named by The Boston Globe as one of theTop Places to Work in Massachusettsfor the last three years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a 20 hours Weekend Hospital and Admissions Nurse Liaison (WHANL) to join its expanding Admission team. Travel is required for this position. Care is provided in patient’s private homes and residential fac ilities throu ghout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest .

Job Responsibilities :

The position of Weekend Hospital and Admissions Nurse Liaison (WHANL) is to provide information about hospice services to patients, families, and hospital-based staff, to conduct clinical assessments, coordinate hospital discharge plans, and maintain professional relationships within hospitals, with a focus on the assigned hospital(s).

Schedule and Weekly Hours:

This is a 20-hour position to work on weekends.

Education, Skills and Experience :

  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of MA as a Registered Nurse.

  • At least two years experience preferred in community health, oncology, hospice, or palliative care.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, Good Shepherd colleagues, patients, and their families

  • Highly skilled at providing patient assessments and evaluations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Competency with accepted standards of hospice nursing practice.

    Salary or hourly range: This number reflects an average starting range for this position. Individual pay is determined through a variety of factors including experience, education, certifications, and skills and can exceed the starting range.
