Actalent Hybrid Embedded Software Engineer in Newtown, Pennsylvania

Our client is looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer. Company offers long-term development opportunities in a growing company. Ability to work remote on Mondays & Fridays. As an Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will plan, design, develop and test software for embedded systems, including feature enhancements and new products. You will perform as a technical expert in the design development, coding, testing, and debugging of embedded software.

Job Description:

  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug new software or complex enhancements to existing embedded Linux products running on powerPC and/or ARM architectures.

  • Work directly with hardware development teams to bringup new processor boards.

  • Work with both hardware and software technical staff to understand and develop resolution of software and/or hardware problems.

  • Resolve customer complaints and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • C/C++ experience   

  • Linux experience  

  • Embedded environment Cross-compiler

Nice To Have:

  • Good de-bugging skills. Should have familiarity with J-Tag

  • XML, HDML, HTTP, XMLP (High level application protocol)

  • Understanding of FPGAs
