Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Learning, the Instructional Designer Sr. plays a crucial role in working closely with clients and other learning practitioners to create best-in-class learning solutions. This collaborative partnership ensures that the design and development processes meet high standards and result in effective learning experiences.

The Instructional Designer Sr. will collaborate with clients and other learning professionals to design curricula and other learning artifacts while also evaluating program performance to ensure alignment with the AmeriHealth Caritas’ Talent RoadMap. As a member of the learning community of practice, the enterprise Instructional Designer Sr. will serve as a resource to train other designers on best practices, tools, techniques, principles, and methodologies.

Primary Accountabilities :

• Demonstrates expertise in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality learning solutions.

• Applies expertise in instructional design models and adult learning theories and principles.

• Conducts needs assessments and evaluates the effectiveness of learning solutions.

• Consults and serves as an expert on learning solutions for both small and large initiatives.

• Uses sound project management principles to ensure learning projects meet established timelines.

• Leads and designs customized learning and business outcomes in support of the Talent Roadmap.

• Partners with other learning and talent professionals to modify customized training in alignment with the learning framework.

• Facilitates train-the-trainer sessions on all instructor-led projects (virtual or in-person).

• Mentor instructional designers and training specialists on design principles and methodologies.

• Works collaboratively with Talent Management, Learning, and other SMEs on instructional solutions that may be single or multi-functional, as well as any large special initiatives.

• Assesses all learning outcomes, course modality, high-impact learning practices, and accessibility issues.

• Ensures all designs adhere to copyright and trademark rules.

• Performs official reviews of online courseware and provides functional and technical assessments to ensure sound decisions are made.

• Reviews instructional materials and activities, recommends revisions that are in accordance with best practices or other standards, and analyzes if expected learning outcomes will be achieved based on the design.

• Stays up to date on current trends in instructional design and applies those to current and future training.

• Continuously looks for ways to add instructional design elements to accelerate the Talent Roadmap initiatives.

• Blends instructional design capabilities with current LMS to deliver best-in-class training using in-house technology.

• Serves as the SME on custom eLearning courseware within the company to ensure design principles and Brand 360 standards for eLearning are applied.

• Analyzes all learning designs and integrates the best practices to support ILT, vILT, and eLearning through the application of adult learning theories and principles.

• Stays up to date on current trends in instructional design and applies those to current and future training.

• Implements robust evaluation strategies to drive learning outcomes.

• Demonstrates visual design expertise to create engaging learning solutions.

• Leverages the capability of a complex Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver best-in-class training using in-house technology.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, Learning Technology, HR Management, or related fields, required. Or 10-plus years in Instructional Design.

• Master’s Degree in Instruction System Design, HR mgmt. or related field preferred with at least 2 years of related experience.

• 5 – 10 years of Instructional Design, Learning, and Learning Technology professional with a background in associate learning, compliance/risk training strategies, leadership development, talent mgmt., and program mgmt.

• Certified in Learning Disciplines, preferred

• Healthcare Industry Knowledge preferred

• Advanced expertise using Authoring Tools, required: Articulate 360, Rise 360, Adobe Suite

• Advanced expertise using virtual learning tools, required

• Advanced proficiency using video and audio editing tools, required

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, required

• Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, required

• Strong Customer Focus and Interpersonal Savvy Skills, required

• Strong Innovation, Problem-solving, and Critical Thinking skills required

NOTE: AmeriHealth Caritas utilizes a hybrid work environment with associates working from home two days a week and in the office three days a week. The functions of this position will be performed onsite at our offices located at 3875 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, 19073
