Responsibilities:

The Market President of Community Health Choices (CHC) will provide the strategic vision and operational expertise to successfully lead AmeriHealth Caritas' CHC programs. CHC is Pennsylvania's Medical Assistance managed care program that includes physical health benefits and long term services and supports (LTSS). The Market President is a proactive, strategic, and decisive leader who demonstrates a commitment to ensuring that CHC Participants have access to high quality health care services. The Market President is responsible for cultivating AmeriHealth Caritas' presence and brand recognition through establishing influential relationships with regulators and key stakeholders and by developing partnerships with key providers, associations, and community leaders. In collaboration with corporate stakeholders, this executive will lead the strategic development, growth, and operations of CHC. The Market President will demonstrate a deep understanding of the CHC market and possess the qualities that support our core values and mission which will result in successful achievement of financial, membership, and plan goals. The Market President that leads AmeriHealth Caritas CHC will:

  • Develop and implement sound business plans and strategies that support the success of our operating model and programs to meet short-term objectives, and support long-term growth, success, and competitive position in the market.

  • Demonstrate and model AmeriHealth Caritas philosophy and values to ensure that philosophy and mission drive the day-to-day operating environment.

  • Provides leadership direction, and an overall vision to CHC, to maintain and improve the performance of the business revenues, membership, external relationships, and profits.

  • Develop strategic plans, budgets, and management action plans as a basis for sound management decision making.

  • Cultivate AmeriHealth Caritas Community Health Choices presence and brand recognition through establishing influential relationships with regulators and key stakeholders and by developing partnerships with key providers, associations, and community leaders.

  • Ensure programs are established and monitored to comply with all relevant federal, State, and other local regulations.

  • Be accountable for full profit and loss responsibility and develops and implements adequate measures to meet the fiscal needs of the company and maintain an effective system of budgetary control.

  • Monitor and analyze the changing landscape and recommend programs and policies to proactively address the changing needs of the participants.

  • Identify State and/or product-specific priorities and determine the appropriate strategic approach that will drive business growth and differentiate AmeriHealth Caritas CHC in the market.

  • Work collaboratively to ensure all back-office functions are exceeding the requirements of the CHC contract(s).

  • Strive to ensure the overall level of quality for delivery of medical services meets or exceeds appropriate industry standards and state requirements.

  • Provide personal leadership that encourages associate productivity and responsiveness to the needs of current and prospective members, providers, and other community and regulatory customers.

  • Foster and build a collaborative partnership with a cross functional internal team and external constituents/stakeholders.

  • Build a best-in-class team that reflects the AmeriHealth Caritas culture and supports the CHC line of Business.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Business Administration or related field

  • 5 plus years operational experience in Medicaid/Medicare/LTSS

  • 10 or more years experience of:

  • Progressive responsibility in Business or Government, health care management experience required.

  • Previous experience in a health plan leadership role preferred.

  • Leadership experience in Medicaid, disability related programs and/or Long-term Service & Support required.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to influence senior level executives; strong business acumen and communication skills; influencing and negotiation skills.

This position will require the candidate to spend a significant amount of time working in Pennsylvania.
