SAP Principal Technology Consultant - Mac Administrator in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania

What you'll do

In your role as a Principal Mac Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing SAP's internal Mac@SAP service. Using an advanced MDM technology stack, third-party products , and bespoke solutions, you will ensure the compliance and currency of our extensive fleet of over 40,000 Macs.

Your key responsibilities include:

Solution Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and deliver state-of-the-art solutions for SAPs global Mac fleet, optimizing distribution methods and self-service policies.

Technical Expertise: Act as a primary 3rd level specialist and support backbone, offering expertise in resolving complex, multi-team challenges related to various Mac technologies. Represent SAP in escalations with software vendors, providing expert guidance and resolutions.

Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: As a senior team member, disseminate your technical knowledge, facilitating skill building across the organization. Regularly contribute to the continuous agile delivery process, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Community Engagement: Leverage your established reputation within the MacAdmin community by sharing knowledge through blog posts, open-source contributions, and other channels.

What you bring

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A completed Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Professional Experience: At least 8 years of experience as a system administrator or in a similar role supporting Macs.

  • MDM Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in managing Macs with preferably with Jamf Pro and/or Microsoft Intune.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent proficiency in English, along with strong communication skills.

  • Automation Skills: Hands-on experience in automating tasks under macOS (e.g., Shell scripts, Python, Apple Script etc.).

Additionally, the following are advantageous:

  • Certifications: Apple Certified Support Professional, Jamf Certified Admin/Expert

  • Backend Experience: Knowledge of a Microsoft-based backend environment (Microsoft Entra ID).

  • Technical Understanding: A solid grasp of system administration, network administration, and security best practices specific to Apple devices.

  • Development Background: Experience with agile development, CI/CD and object-oriented programming (e.g. Swift / Objective-C)

  • Innovative Mindset: A willingness to think outside the box to deliver a top-tier user experience for our users.

Compensation Range Transparency : SAPbelieves the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAPs commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 145000 - 246400(USD) USD.The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidatewill be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills,experience, scope ofthe role, location, etc. as determinedthrough theselection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
