WHO YOU ARE

We are hiring for Assembly Apprentice to join our team. During the 8-week apprenticeship, you'll have an opportunity to develop your skills while supporting a variety of products and programs.

During the apprenticeship, you will gain experience and apply your skills in these areas:

• Perform a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical products including navigation grade accelerometers and gravity sensors.

• Perform work under advanced industrial microscopes at magnifications from 10X-50X or higher.

• Perform precision cleaning operations using reagent grade solvents, ultrasonics, Plasma cleaning and UV Ozone cleaning technologies.

• Assemble delicate components using advanced epoxy resins.

• Perform precision material removal processes such as lapping, electro-chemical grinding and electropolishing.

• Work in an ISO Class 5 clean room environment in a full gown.

• Solder electrical interconnect wiring from 0.001”-0.010” diameter under microscope.

• Perform leak testing using Helium Mass Spectrometer equipment.

• Process high tech magnets using magnetizers and conditioners.

• Use of thermal processing equipment including lab ovens, temperature cycling chambers and furnaces.

• Use of electronic equipment including multimeters, IR testers and vacuum gauging.

• Perform product acceptance testing using precision indexers, centrifuges and vibration equipment.

• Utilize Travelers and detailed work instructions as guidance in performing work.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education

• Working knowledge of industrial microscopes

• Ability and willingness to work in an ISO/clean room environment

Desired Skills:

• Experience with use of precision measuring tools

• Experience with miniature precision devices and components

• Possess a relevant certificate program in electronics, mechanical or related program

• Experience working in an ISO/clean room environment

• Experience in using a Microscope to assemble miniature parts into assemblies (such as watch making, jewelry, medical devices, hybrid microelectronics, accelerometer, gyros).

• High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail

• IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certification

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $35,900 - $68,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $41,300 - $74,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
