Actalent Laboratory Technologist in Norcross, Georgia

Actively Interviewing for Laboratory Technologist to join top medical lab in Norcross, GA!

Job Description

As a Laboratory Technologist, you will start by performing various essential duties and gradually be trained on different laboratory platforms. This role offers an opportunity to grow within an advanced technology laboratory that is expanding its operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with box reception and other tasks around the lab.

  • Remove boxes from the FedEx truck.

  • Open boxes and perform secondary checks on all received boxes.

  • Stage OPI samples by removing them from bags and placing them on racks to dry.

  • Assist with relabeling NAT samples.

  • Help rack samples for PVT.

  • Support with dumping samples as needed.

  • Prepare empty boxes for return shipment to the customer.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline.

  • 0-1 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemistry, CLIA regulations, biology, and medical processes.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a large, well-lit, and clean laboratory and warehouse setting. The laboratory fosters a positive working environment and is currently expanding, including adding a Microbiology laboratory. The shifts are 7am-7:30pm Sunday-Tuesday with a rotating Saturday, and 7am-7:30pm Wednesday-Friday with a rotating Saturday. After a 2-day orientation, you will start on the day shift, with the possibility of transferring to night shifts in January.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
