Design of coastal and near-coast structures.
Interactions between structures and with near-shore processes.
Structures life estimation.
Engineering challenges in a coastal environment.
This role will focus on researching the design and performance of coastal structures, including breakwaters, jetties, flood barriers, naval constructions, and offshore wind structures. They will apply engineering principles such as fluid dynamics, wave mechanics, wave-structure interactions, sediment transport, and sustainable and resilient infrastructure design. Familiarity with advanced computational methods, numerical modeling, laboratory work, and field studies is expected.
