Amentum Entry-Level Electrical Engineer in Norfolk, Virginia

Amentum is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. The selected candidate will perform a variety of engineering assignments in support of Naval Station Norfolk's Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 286 with test, installation, operation, and maintenance of electric/electronic equipment and systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting with installing, modifying, repairing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing sonar systems and subsystems. Systems include:

  • AN/SQR-19 and MFTA Towed Array Systems

  • AN/SQQ-28 Sonobuoy Receiving Systems and AN/SQQ-89

  • On-Board Training (OBT) systems and subsystems

  • Provide technical support for urgent mission-degrading CASREPs or other system and component problems

  • Provide technical support for assessments and inspections such as TMIs, TSRAs, and INSURVs, and Assist the Ship’s Force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required

  • Assist with technical research and resolution recommendations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, TAAS, and other programs necessary for report filing

  • Good communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs

  • Position may require travel

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.
