Serco Senior Project Operations Lead in Norfolk, Virginia

Position Description

Are you an experienced leader with a deep understanding of project operations and a passion for driving success across large programs? Serco-NA is seeking a Senior Project Operations Manager to take charge of the strategic execution and operational direction for a large project or sub-function within a program.

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Level Clearance.

In this role, you will:

  • Leverage your broad expertise and leadership abilities to guide teams, influence policies, and ensure long-term project performance.

  • Own the execution of strategy and the operational direction of a small to mid-sized sub-function within a program or a large project.

  • Oversee multiple job areas, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, with a focus on meeting strategic goals.

  • Lead and manage teams across different functional areas, providing direction and guidance to ensure alignment with project or program objectives.

  • Address difficult and moderately complex problems, using your mastery of technical knowledge and leadership skills to develop solutions that align with overall project goals.

  • Influence policies, practices, and procedures not only within your own project but also across other programs or functions, driving organizational alignment and efficiency.

  • Be responsible for the ongoing performance and optimization of the project or program after it has entered the production phase, ensuring continued success and improvement.

  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project or program success and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and performance.

  • Ensure that resources, including personnel and financial budgets, are appropriately allocated to meet project goals and strategic objectives.

  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the project or program.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of 7 yearsof experience in project operations, management, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing large projects or sub-functions within programs is required.

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

  • Broad management and leadership knowledge, with the ability to lead teams across multiple job areas and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

  • Mastery-level knowledge within a specific technical or professional discipline, combined with a broad understanding of how your work impacts other areas of the project or program.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing and resolving moderately complex issues within the project or program.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute operational plans that support long-term project and program success.

  • Experience in effectively managing resources, including personnel, budgets, and timelines, to meet project or program objectives.

  • Travel may be required up to 10%.

Additional Desired Experience and Skills:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are desirable.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, to enhance project efficiency.

  • Familiarity with government contracting regulations and procedures.

  • Strong background in managing change and adapting operational strategies to meet evolving project needs.

  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks within complex project operations.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $73,775.81 to $119,884.79; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
