EDSI Case Manager in Norristown, Pennsylvania

Salary: $42,500/year

Title:  Career Coach (EARN)

Classification: Non-Exempt

 

Scope of Position

  • Provide case management and career coaching to customers. Provide support and assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
  • Due to the dynamics of working with individuals, this position necessitates an individual who is comfortable working with client circumstances that are constantly evolving
  • This position requires an organized individual who can efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously and work independently

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities
  • Maintain daily contact with caseload to document customer activities
  • Promptly enter case notes regarding customers circumstances into electronic databases
  • Build professional one-on-one working relationships with customers to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
  • Empathize with customers experiencing life challenges, while being solution oriented, catering support according to needs
  • Effectively communicate outreach to customers serviced remotely through various forms of technology, including phone, email, text, and internet-based applications
  • Conduct intake assessments to create Individual Employment Plans to guide customers on their path to employment
  • Maintain a solution-oriented approach to help customers overcome barriers to employment
  • Provide referrals to appropriate community internship placements or social service agencies when needed
  • Encourage customers to participate in and follow through with planned activities
  • Facilitate job readiness workshops as requested
  • Create solutions to customer attendance problems
  • Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts
  • Follow up with customers to verify and document job placement status
  • Maintain customer files as specified by local, state, and federal standards
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and file audits as needed
  • Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract
  • Work with the team on implementing processes that increase customer engagement

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, criminal justice, or equivalent experience in human services (Human services experience working with returning citizens, mental health or employment programs and career counseling experience)
  • Must have notable experience working in a team environment and must have two years customer service experience; good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts in an organized and timely manner
  • Demonstrated excellence in video conferencing, telephone, computer, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require proficiency in Microsoft Office products; some experience in using creative software such as ADOBE
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
