County of Montgomery Equity/Emergency Court Scheduling Assistant in Norristown, Pennsylvania

This position coordinates the scheduling of all civil equity/emergency matters requiring a hearing (ie: License Suspensions, Landlord Tenant Eviction/Stay, Injunctions, and Mental Health hearings etc.), and works in conjunction with other Civil Division Staff.  This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion, critical thinking, and is of substantial importance to the operation of the court.

  • Assists in oversight of motion court and equity/emergency matters. 
  • Generates the receipt of electronic transfer of filings to the Equity/Emergency worklist via the Prothonotary's Office. Creation of praecipes for scheduling. Coordinating, reviewing, monitoring and scheduling of the Civil Equity/Emergency matters is performed. Notices are processed for mailing.   Computer generated lists are distributed.  Daily follow-up of disposition of orders from the courtroom into the Paperless program. Review of the orders to determine if further scheduling action is needed.
  • Keeps an accurate account of monthly statistics as reported to the Deputy Court Administrator.
  • Interacts with the public regarding filing of paperwork for In Forma Pauperis, License Suspension,  Name Changes and Landlord Tenant Eviction matters.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the District Court Administrator.
  • Non-remote work required. 
  • Education and Credentials
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred (not required), or other related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
