DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee, strategize, and engage in the nursing care provided to both newly admitted and long-term patients from community criminal justice systems, who present a diverse range of acute and chronic psychiatric and behavioral issues necessitating comprehensive inpatient psychiatric assessment and treatment. Regular communication and collaboration will be essential with the Chief Nurse Executive, Nurse Manager 1, and shift supervisors to ensure a seamless continuity of care and effective oversight. Additionally, you will be tasked with offering guidance, direction, and assessment of the compliance of subordinate staff with the specific security and safety protocols inherent to the Forensic Center, while also acting as a valuable resource for nursing personnel, nursing administration, interdisciplinary team members, and consumer support services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) with rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years as a Forensic Registered Nurse (commonwealth title); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care, treatment, custody, and control of psychiatric patients.

Special Requirements: All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
