DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Health Care Nurse Surveyor, your role will involve inspecting acute and ambulatory care facilities to assess the quality of care and services provided. You will be responsible for scheduling surveys or investigations based on the facility type, survey priority, and other factors. Your duties will include conducting investigations into complaints or incidents, performing facility surveys (both in-office and on-site), and carrying out occupancy surveys to meet licensure, re-licensure, and certification requirements. You will review reports for assigned facilities, follow up with providers to gather additional information, and draft reports detailing survey and investigation findings. This position requires carrying a cell phone to respond to off-hour complaints and entails statewide and occasional overnight travel, as well as flexible working hours to meet state and federal requirements. While inspections are primarily conducted within Philadelphia County, occasional travel outside this area may be necessary.

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. You will spend an average of 3 to 4 days in the field each week. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements: All positions require successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated Surveyor Minimum Qualifications training and Test (SMQT) provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or an equivalent certifying body for the discipline, within one year of hire. All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
