System One Microbiology Laboratory Technician in Norristown, Pennsylvania

Title: Microbiology Laboratory Technician

Location: Norristown PA

Type: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Start: Immediate

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the laboratory follows the correct procedures.

  • Test product as required for adherence to specifications.

  • Provide timely and accurate testing of assigned materials.

  • Perform microbiology testing on products as incoming materials and in-process samples.

  • Must be able to react to rush, in-process samples.

  • Use statistically sound sampling plans to assure random sampling of materials to be tested.

  • Must be able to acquire testing samples.

  • Record work performed along with results in a clear and understandable manner, so that all can understand.

  • Report and document all incidents. Use CAPA and Root Cause Analysis to determine cause and prevention.

  • Will build, set-up, maintain a full stability program for children toy products.

  • Will be responsible for maintaining laboratory and stability samples as needed.

  • Keep work area clean and organized.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science – Microbiology preferred

  • Industry experience in a microbiology quality control lab preferred

  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

  • Math and mechanical aptitude.

  • Able to read, understand, and follow detailed instructions.

  • Detailed oriented.

  • Ability to work a full day on your feet in a very active environment and lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height.

  • Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, and kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, and hearing, talking, and seeing.
