Job Description:

Leads, directs and reviews the work of RF test technicians and assembly operators. Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems and solutions. Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the short term operational results for the department. Requires practical knowledge in leading/managing projet, processes and employees and has a strong knowledge within professional discipline.

Essential Functions:

  • RF Background/experience.

  • Must have general knowledge/experience of working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing facility.

  • Will facilitate knowledge transfer of legacy systems from operators into acceptance test procedures.

  • Work closely with engineering on troubleshooting of legacy and developmental programs.

  • Working with manufacturing engineering to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Supervise direct reports to ensure the delivery schedules are achieved and all policies and procedures are upheld.

  • Approve timecards for all direct reports.

  • Support the performance reviews and compensation planning of all direct reports.

  • Provide status/IOI data to upper management and attend meetings that require department representation.

  • Maintain department GEMBA board and present KPI metrics on a weekly basis.

  • Ensure that the departments are properly staffed to achieve targeted requirements.

  • Ability to quickly identify technical challenges and effectively collaborate with cross functional departments to render solutions.

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate across functional departments to ensure an efficient transition of hardware through the factory.

  • Communicate well with all levels of leadership and customers.

  • Ensure employee safety throughout the operation process, supporting the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) where required.

  • Eliminate waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, resulting in improved efficiency.

  • Create a team environment, leading to Lean 2 Second improvements to increase profitability.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse staff. Able to meet commitments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of all work flowing through the Missles and Munitions room as well as the Test Department.

  • Collaborates with Design Engineering to review and evaluate New Product Development (NPD) drawings, drive new designs toward optimized production processes which ensure the producibility of the hardware, engage with Suppliers early in the Design process.

  • Analyze ECOs (engineering change orders) impact to Operations including, material in stock, work in process, and work outsourced to suppliers.

    Qualifications:.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance if required.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Mechanically inclined.

  • Experience with Agile PDM and/or Cincom Control MRP.

  • IPC610 Certification.

  • Lean expert or Greenbelt Certification.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • Support 5S improvement activities.

  • Lean, Yellowbelt or Greenbelt certified.

  • Identify and facilitate implementation of facilities changes as required to support rate.

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office.

  • Proficiency in CAD, prefer AUTOCAD or PTC Creo, to design manufacturing tools and fixtures preferred.

  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, able to work successfully both independently with minimal oversight and in a Team environment.

  • 2+ Years of management experience.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $106,500 - $142,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
