Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in North Bethesda, MD for a Desktop Support Technician. This role falls within the technology industry and involves operating computers and related equipment, handling central console or online terminals for data processing, and performing preventive maintenance on peripheral equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Operating computers and computer-related equipment.

• Handling the central console or online terminals for the processing of data.

• Monitoring system consoles and performing operator preventive maintenance.

• Performing simple troubleshooting techniques.

• Completing logs concerning machine utilization, reruns, and finished production work.

• Performing regular system backups as required.

• Running diagnostic tests to detect machine malfunctions, if needed.

• Interacting daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups.

  Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience or technical training.

• Ability to work on semi-routine problems and recognize deviation from accepted practices.

• Ability to serve in a lead role and train others.

• Ability to work under general instructions on new assignments.

• General knowledge and experience in computer operating systems.
