Job Description

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • As a senior member of the team, support manager by providing scientific insight, guidance, and support on all studies executed by the team (e.g., contribute to the design, execution, analysis of data, and reporting of studies, etc.) and escalating key issues or gaps to manager to address with the team

  • Understanding of clinical development processes to serve as subject matter authority when integrating new tools & technologies into our phase 1-3 clinical studies

  • Serve as a subject matter authority in applying scientific qualitative and quantitative research to generate evidence and inform development of conceptual models and/or studies which address a measurement gap (e.g., identification of unmet measurement need, endpoints capturing outcomes, condition improvements, quality of life measures, etc.)

  • Participate in scientific education of internal & external stakeholders on the translational data relevant to the projects and new innovation approaches that are beneficial for key collaborators

  • Partner with clinical science team, and other key stakeholders across AbbVie to pursue and develop clinical outcome measures that drive our business toward new claims or indications.

  • Monitors, understands, and prioritizes external trends of relevance to our enterprise programs around evidence generation, and escalates to manager to address how AbbVie should prepare and/or respond

  • Serves as an innovation champion by communicating clinical science program goals across the organization and addressing business critical gaps that position our business for success

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctoral Degree in relevant subject area, plus 3+ years of practical experience

  • Experience conducting outcomes research studies, and the communication of study findings to internal and external audiences

  • Translational Science and/or clinical expertise & experience in aesthetics, dermatology, or skin health with the development, selection, and evaluation of assessment tools used in clinical studies

  • Experience in scientific evidence generation, clinical development, or other aspects of experimental design and discovery in a hands-on role.

  • Experience leading junior scientist

  • Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed organization and partnering with complex, cross-functional teams

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

Salary: $117,500 - $223,500
