Robert Half Network Engineer in North Haven, Connecticut

Description We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based in North Haven, Connecticut. In this contract role, you will handle various network-related tasks in a highly technical environment. The industry requires a deep understanding of Cisco technologies, as well as computer hardware and configuration management.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement network configurations, particularly for Cisco routers and Cisco ASA.

• Utilize Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for routing and IP network communication.

• Oversee the security of the network, employing Checkpoint technologies.

• Perform AB testing for the network to identify potential improvements and ensure optimal performance.

• Manage computer hardware resources and ensure their efficient use.

• Conduct regular configuration management to ensure network security and functionality.

• Provide technical support for data center operations.

• Plan and execute network deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.

• Maintain a deep understanding of Cisco technologies and apply this knowledge to daily tasks.

• Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely solutions. Requirements • Proficient in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

• Experience with Checkpoint systems

• Knowledge of Cisco ASA

• Ability to work with Cisco Routers

• Familiarity with Cisco Technologies

• Experience in AB Testing

• Understanding of Computer Hardware

• Proficient in Configuration Management

• Experience working in a Datacenter

• Familiarity with Deployments processes and procedures

• Ability to troubleshoot network issues

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders

• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred

• Relevant certifications in networking would be an asset

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make efficient decisions
