Actalent Assistant Construction Project Manager in North Kingstown, Rhode Island

Job Title: Assistant Project ManagerJob Description

Assist the project manager in project oversight, acting as a liaison between the field and office. Collaborate with other departments and members of the project team. Participate in preconstruction reviews and design-build activities, manage customer, subcontractor, and vendor relations with courtesy, integrity, and fairness. Promote a culture of Quality, Safety, and Performance (QSP) through practices, participation, image, and awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager in administering the project, monitoring reports, and maintaining logs and information.

  • Handle document control including the administration and tracking of procurement logs, submittals, purchase orders, correspondence, deliverables, etc.

  • Administer and track receivables, billings, and commitments.

  • Manage contract drawings revisions, specifications, RFIs, and change order logs to keep the scope of work clear between office, field, and client.

  • Create comparisons of actual hourly and cost performance versus budgeted.

  • Assist in updating and reviewing project schedules.

  • Track job progress and productivity against the schedule.

  • Monitor QA/QC for compliance with specifications.

  • Implement and maintain project document control.

  • Process and track project communications including emails, texts, letters of correspondence, documentation, and notifications.

  • Maintain project files (both electronic and physical).

  • Prepare meeting minutes, daily reports, correspondence, and material specifications.

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver individual project close-out documentation packages.

  • Analyze project technical and administrative information.

  • Understand and monitor scope of work, pricing details, plan, means and methods assumptions, and project risks.

  • Identify and communicate potential contract or scope of work changes.

  • Price up changes to the contract and prepare submissions to clients.

  • Anticipate, identify, prevent, and solve problems as necessary, communicate with the PM, support mitigation, and monitor results.

  • Update the PM regarding interpretation of information for use in pricing, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, project scope variation, and estimate variation from project inception to completion.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of electrical construction experience

  • Experience with RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals

  • Project document control

  • Billing management

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Substation construction management preferred

  • Utility background preferred

Work Environment

Work hours are from 8am to 5pm at the Farmington, CT headquarters. The role involves working in the office five days a week with occasional site visits to the substation projects. You will be provided with a laptop, cell phone, and your own desk. PPE will be required for site visits.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00
