Job Title: Fiber Optic Splicer
Job Description
The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for identifying and resolving issues related to fiber optic networks. Through troubleshooting and repair, this role ensures the smooth operation of telecommunications and data transmission systems.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic tests to assess fiber optic link performance.
Analyze test results to identify network problems (e.g., fiber cuts, bends, damaged connectors).
Conduct repairs and work with splicers to restore connectivity.
Use OTDRs and power meters to locate faults and signal degradation.
Ensure fiber optic installations and repairs meet industry standards and regulations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician/Splicer.
Fiber Optic Technician certification (FOA or equivalent preferred).
Strong understanding of fiber optic principles and equipment (OTDRs, power meters, light sources, splicing equipment).
Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a dedication to excellence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
Previous experience in underground utility installation is a plus.

Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The dress code requires steel-toe shoes and long sleeves, and Cintas provides uniforms.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $70000.00
