What You Will Do:

L'Oréal is seeking an experienced Contract Manufacturing Senior Planner to lead and elevate our contract manufacturing operations by overseeing the planning and coordination to ensure timely production and delivery of high-quality cosmetics. As part of our dynamic supply chain team, you will lead through influence with both internal and external partners, manage production schedules and deliveries, cultivate new external relationships, and continually optimize contract manufacturing processes to meet L'Oréal's standards of excellence.

What You Will Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Manufacturing Planning:

  • Collaborate with contract manufacturing partners to execute detailed production plans that align with L'Oréal's demand forecasts for finished goods, semi-finished goods, bulks, and phases

  • Coordinate production schedules, bulk and component availability, and production capacity to ensure on-time product delivery

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accurate production forecasts in outer months to contract manufacturers considering projected net requirements and launches

  • Production Coordination:

  • Monitor production processes and timelines, identifying potential bottlenecks and proactively addressing production challenges.

  • Maintain clear communication channels with contract manufacturers to ensure seamless execution of production plans.

  • Set-up and maintain applicable system data to support new and existing production

  • Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure contract manufacturers adhere to L’Oréal’s quality standard expectations through coordination with internal quality teams including receipt of samples

  • Coordinate the investigation and next steps for non-conforming production from the contract manufacturing

  • Train and coach contract manufacturers in the L’Oréal quality standard and incident investigation process to ensure timely corrective action is taken when needed

  • Inventory Management:

  • Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure accurate inventory levels through both on-going production and monthly systematic analysis

  • Lead investigations for inventory discrepancies

  • Coordinate and execute yearly physical inventory with all applicable contract manufacturers

  • Maintain health of POs for on-time payment to vendors

  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:

  • Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to contract manufacturing:

  • Production achievement

  • Production adherence

  • Inventory discrepancy below threshold

  • Quality right the first time

  • Generate regular scorecards and analyses to evaluate contract manufacturing performance and identify areas for improvement consistent with L’Oréal corporate standards

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the contract manufacturing process

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving contract manufacturing operations, enhancing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Leadership:

  • Lead the onboarding and set-up of new subcontractors to the site catalog for a seamless start-up

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to planners contributing to their development within the team

  • Provide feedback to the corporate sourcing team to address poor supplier performance and influence future contracts.

    What We Are Looking For:

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or applicable industry experience

  • 3+ years of experience in planning

  • High Proficiency in MS Excel required (including data analysis, logic testing, pivot tables).

  • SAP experience required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners

  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and executing cross-functional projects.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor and guide junior team members.

  • Influential management skills to engage external partners and drive collaborative initiatives

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple production schedules and projects simultaneously

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, trends, and performance metrics.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address production challenges in a fast-paced environment
