As a Software Development Engineer on the AR Sortation Planning team, you will design, develop and deploy full-stack robotic workcell solutions using AWS that are scalable, reliable and performant. You will build software solutions to improve sortation at scale, improve associate safety and ergonomics, associate job satisfaction, and site efficiency. You will work on end-to-end systems, from frontend applications serving Amazon internal job functions to backend service integrations powering robotic control systems. You will build simulation models and digital twins of these robotic systems and provide our scientists, researchers and engineers the tools they need to develop and optimize robotic components, workflows and systems. We collaborate cross-functionally with concept solutions designers, robotic hardware, controls and systems experts to develop pioneering software applications in an exciting, fast-paced and innovative environment.

The ideal candidate will be a Full Stack developer with experience programming with one or both of React and JVM-based languages.

About the team

We have a talented, innovative and diverse team that works on cutting edge software driving human and robotic workflows, UI interfaces, AWS services at middle-mile Sortation centers within the Amazon Transportation Services network. We build algorithms to optimize sortation rates, improve safety and ergonomics, delight our associates, build simulations for our new robotic solutions, all while operating at Amazon scale.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
