Purpose:

The Reporting & Operations Delivery Partner plays a critical role in terms of bridging the business needs within the technical environment across the reporting lifecycle and will be responsible for leading offshore developer teams and demand planning processes. Prioritization of resources while ensuring standardizing business performance reporting solutions that provide a clear and globally aligned understanding of our markets, our customers, and our competition. The deliverables from this role will offer “One Source of Truth” across data and metrics to enable data-driven decision making across global commercial brand teams.

This position will work collaboratively with several external and Internal partners and will focus on 3rd party vendor relationships. The role needs to collaborate with global, regional, and local business stakeholders, marketing, and information systems (DX) teams and balance the needs of all relevant stakeholders and deliver standardized, automated reporting, analytics, and standard reporting to the business.

This is an individual contributor role.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development lifecycle process across Astellas vendors and internal stakeholders; ensure flexible best-in-industry service to the global, regional & local commercial organizations through the development and delivery of timely, qualitative, and quantitative reporting solutions including dashboards, data, KPIs, and analysis, connecting data from various sources together to create meaningful analytics for business users.

  • Review reporting solutions with vendors and make sure the reports are being developed match Astellas standards.

  • Develop and enforce report development standards, UI style guide that need to be followed across various GCI reporting vendor teams.

  • Take accountability for resource prioritization, escalating to the Reporting lead any data governance infringements or complex issues.

  • Lead the development of the visualization of analytics, co-creating with internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring it is appropriately scoped before generating solutions.

  • Identify and act upon data gaps, asking the right questions of key stakeholders and co-creating methodologies to form solutions to close down gaps and improve data capture and reporting processes.

  • Partner with the Commercial Capabilities Learning and Development Leads to design relevant continuous learning content (via train-the-trainer) for BA data/analytics across the commercial organization to increase capability in data driven decision making.

  • Manage complex network of stakeholders across the commercial organization, balancing the needs of Brand teams, General Managers, Global Leaders and Executive/C-Suite.

  • Effectively translate and visualize complex data sources in a way that is relevant and simple to understand for all levels of the business.

  • Identify and deliver innovative and established options to develop and roll-out self-service functionality, working collaboratively with local stakeholders to map business requirements.

  • Partner with the appropriate local teams to roll out new self-service platforms, tools and functionality.

  • Responsible for the consistent and harmonized management of data and business analytics and reporting in line with the business strategy.

  • Take leadership and work collaboratively with designated vendors to ensure expected outcomes and data/analytics standards are maintained in line with business needs, ensuring compliance with Astellas standards through audit and controls.

  • Embody the Ethics and Compliance culture and Integrity in Action by proactively addressing non-compliance.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and ease of use of performance reporting and dashboards based on feedback from key partners and cross-functional colleagues.

  • Ability to deliver key milestones related to assigned major projects.

Organizational Context:

  • Director, Business Analytics & Reporting. Reporting lead.

  • This position requires extensive collaboration across the global Commercial Insights but will have a focus on technical leadership with vendors and stakeholders. The role requires engagement with a network of stakeholders across the commercial organization, including global/regional brand teams, and general managers when required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 4 - 6+ years’ experience is a data or reporting/dashboard related role.

  • Experience with data and analytics business partnering in a highly customer-focused organization, preferably in an international context.

  • Deep technical and business user knowledge of reporting tools and platforms with a focus on QLIK.

  • Expertise in analytics, able to identify and scope data/analysis requirements, and specifically strong on Visualization of analytics, and knows when to utilize different methods of support and analytics.

  • Able to lead innovative information strategy outcomes in partnership with stakeholders/colleagues and work alone as a subject matter expert.

  • Be accountable from a reporting perspective to ensure accurate and reliable data sources through understanding the alignment of business needs.

  • Proven ability to triage and manage new and change requests across a broad set of reporting solutions and data to meet internal stakeholder needs at the local, regional, and global level.

  • Politically astute with sound judgement and able to challenge respectively and constructively.

  • Adept at multi-tasking and prioritization, able to re-align priorities based on evolving business needs.

  • Impactful, credible with stakeholders internally and externally, able to effectively influence and delivering results through influence and persuasion.

  • Excellent communicator, able to tailor and adapt messaging to all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Working in a multi-cultural context.

  • Experienced manager of external vendors delivering success criteria that has been measured and audited on a regular basis with successful outcomes.

  • Good working knowledge of data compliance and data privacy policies and procedures and their application in a working environment.

  • Able to support initiatives with shifting requirements and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred:

  • Post-graduate qualification such as MBA and/or MSc or equivalent is highly desirable.

  • Project management experience.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience.
