Position Description:
Senior Software Engineer Mobile Apps for Medtronic, Inc., Northridge, CA. Responsible for enterprise medical device product and mobile application development and testing that includes apps developed for iOS and Android phone. Develop apps using object-oriented software development including Java and Swift. Design, develop, test, debug and implement software components, software tools and utilities. Determine software design requirements and ensure that design is successfully implemented and monitored to meet overall product quality. Develop wireless communication software components using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). Utilize Design Patterns to develop medical device applications and tools using MVC (Model-View-Controller), MVVM (Mode-View-View-Model), Singleton, and Factory design pattern. Design and implement storage of data using mobile databases, or persistence framework. Connect mobile app to backend services using RESTful API. Create multiple reusable and customized components that can be plugged in and out for iOS and Android apps. Implement continuous integration best practices. Utilize source code version control tools such as Git. Develop software in cross-platform mobile frameworks like Flutter or React Native. Relocation assistance not provided. #LI-DNI.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related engineering field, and two (2) years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation in Android or iOS development and testing. Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience with each of the following: Object-oriented software development using Java or Swift; MVC/MVVM, Singleton, and Factory design patterns; storage of data using mobile database, or persistence framework; and implementing continuous integration best practices. Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience with each of the following: Bluetooth Low Energy; RESTful API; and cross-platform mobile frameworks including Flutter or React Native.
The position is located at Medtronic, Inc., 18000 Devonshire Street, Northridge, CA 91325.
Salary: $145,500 to $180,000 per year
