ICP Group 1st Shift Fill Line Operator in Norton, Ohio

ICP Group is seeking a Fill Line Operator to join our team in Norton, OH.  This position is responsible for filling and labeling products of all assigned number of batches designated on daily production schedule according to prescribed company processes & procedures assuring quality product packaging and presentation.

Shift hours:

Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm

Friday – per production demand only.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate, adjust and clean semi-automatic filling machine.  Fill correct containers with correct product, at specified level.  Carefully read, and double- check batch tickets to verify proper material, container, special instructions and procedures.  

  • Carefully follow scheduling instructions, checking to verify all containers, labels are ready BEFORE beginning batch.  Assemble containers in work area for efficient production and to avoid interfering with other operations. 

  • Position equipment and/or tanks to expedite filling of each particular batch.  This may involve pulling or pushing substantial loads which are on casters to facilitate moving.  However, it is advisable to get help when performing this task. 

  • Use good judgment and follow correct practices to prevent contamination from foreign materials or residue from other batches of paint. 

  • Follow designated procedure on taking correct representative samples to QC lab for correct  

  • viscosity and color verification. 

  • Direct actions of fellow filling line operator, as required, to share workload and perform duties efficiently.  The senior operator is responsible for the performance and accuracy of the work performed by the team. 

  • Record ticket with correct batch number and counts of product filled. 

  • Notify Department Supervisor or others in authority of any discrepancies in production.  

  • Meet, or exceeds production standards for quality and volume of product filled while maintaining lowest error rate to hold cost to acceptable levels. 

  • Perform additional duties as directed by plant management supervision. 

  • Actively participate in STOP program & attend morning meetings 

  • Wear designated PPE (personal protective equipment) for assigned department area 

  • Report all safety incidents 

  • Keep work area & equipment clean 

    Experience needed:

  • Minimum one year experience in acquiring product filling methods and correct sample requirements following prescribed company formulas and procedures 

  • Must be a licensed fork truck driver and as such, make a daily inspection of equipment to assure safe operation  

  • Safety habits & awareness required as a condition of employment 

  • Must possess ability to lift medium to heavy weights intermittently.  Must be able to bend, stretch and reach in positions to move & raw materials of batches
