Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the non-profit industry based in Norwich, Connecticut, United States. We are in search of a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling various HR duties including processing new permanent paperwork, facilitating new permanent orientations, and participating in recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.

• Conduct new permanent orientations to familiarize employees with company policies and procedures.

• Actively participate in recruitment efforts, including attending job fairs as needed.

• Process new permanent paperwork and maintain accurate records of all employees.

• Handle email communications professionally, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.

• Utilize Microsoft Office for various tasks, demonstrating computer savviness.

• Maintain a high level of customer service when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Perform background checks as part of the hiring process, in compliance with company policies.

• Adapt to new tasks quickly, displaying a keen ability to learn and grow in the role. Requirements • Possess a strong understanding of conducting background checks as part of the staffing process

• Display exceptional customer service skills when interacting with current and prospective team members

• Demonstrate proficiency in Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for managing HR information

• Have experience in organizing and conducting orientations to smoothly integrate new team members

• Exhibit excellent email communication skills for effective internal and external correspondence

• Show familiarity with onboarding processes, ensuring new team members are properly oriented and integrated into the team.
