The Chenango County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for a Social Welfare Examiner. Duties involve working directly with applicants and clients to determine their eligibility for various social service programs.<p> Qualifications: Candidates must have completed at least 60 credit hours in any field of study; OR have a HS diploma or GED and two years of fulltime paid experience or its' part time equivalent in examining, investigating, or evaluating claims for assistance, veterans, or unemployment benefits, insurance, or a similar program.<p> This title has been approved without the need to take an examination through the HELP Program of the NYS Department of Civil Service.
