Here's how you can help. We are currently looking for a Program Specialist to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.
Position Highlights:
The Program Specialist develops, implements, and evaluates service programs and resources within Lions International’s global causes (childhood cancer, diabetes, disaster relief, environment, hunger, humanitarian, vision, youth). Improves existing programs, develops and pilots new initiatives, and works collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization to provide high-level support to Lions, Leos and key stakeholders. Previous experience in program development is preferred but not required.
What You’ll Do:
Manage full program life cycle, including initiation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance.
Design and develop service programs with measurable outcomes that align with the organization’s mission and the global causes.
Research global and regional needs and provide input on potential service engagement opportunities and programs that align with the global causes.
Provide input on program-related priorities and needs to Marketing Division. Collaborate with Marketing on creation and delivery of program resources that support the service of Lions and Leos.
Collaborate with Global Action Team on implementation of programs and collection of feedback from Lion and Leo stakeholders. Develop strategies and plans for scaling the support, implementation and delivery of successful programs and identify opportunities for increasing Lion and Leo engagement in LCI service programs.
Monitor and evaluate programs for relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact. Recommend and implement changes and improvements to program design and implementation.
Liaise with IT to ensure reporting products meet program needs. Analyze service reporting data to measure program success and participation. Prepare regular reports on program engagement and impact.
Collaborate with partners on implementation of programs. Contribute to the development of work plans and identification of key deliverables for programmatic partners.
Develop knowledge and expertise on assigned program areas and provide technical support as needed.
Support manager in preparation of board meeting materials, reports and budgetary requests related to program development.
Ensure quality customer service to Lions, Leos, LCI/LCIF staff and external partners.
We’re Looking for Someone With:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience and a minimum of three years of experience working in program development with not-for-profit organizations. Experience with environmental or public health programming preferred but not required.
Strong project management skills, including organizational skills, attention to detail, research skills, ability to coordinate input from multiple sources for project completion, and ability to use data to make informed decisions about future program development.
Familiarity with global trends related to humanitarian service is a plus.
Strong member service skills, applying sensitivity to the unique needs of an international organization.
Strong PC skills, including intermediate or better skills with Microsoft Suite.
Strong language skills for composing and proofreading correspondence and other written materials.
