Job Description

As the Senior Product Manager for Gasoline Systems, you will have full responsibility for the Go-To-Market Strategy and its deployment and execution for one of our key Independent Aftermarket product lines for the US/Canadian market. You will manage the program portfolio and its profitability along the whole product lifecycle, securing and growing our market share, margin and EBIT. You will work very closely with our Go-

To-Source/Business Unit and Sales teams in a highly cross-functional, collaborative environment.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Defining the product line’s value proposition towards the customer, ensuring a competitive product positioning, securing and growing the profitability of the line. This entails full pricing responsibility.

  • Business planning and forecasting

  • Performing regular market analysis, which includes customer potential research and analyses, competitor analyses and monitoring, researching of pricing, service and coverage, as well as category management (i.e. buyers behavior analyses).

  • Conducting in-depth commercial program and product line reviews and analyses.

  • Maintaining buyers’ guides

  • Driving activities necessary to grow, secure and grow market share

  • Creating internal, upper management level strategy and business updates and presentations.

  • Supporting our sales teams with product specific sales pitches, promotions, customer meetings and campaigns

  • Setting up new parts and programs at the customer via our sales teams (i.e. for range extensions and product life-cycle management)

  • Creating and evaluating project calculations to drive decisions to acquire new business

  • Creation and implementation of product training, including presentations of features and benefits to the sales force and also external customers

  • Identifying, leading and supporting cross functional, continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters in Marketing (or related business degree), Engineering, or equivalent, relevant experience required

  • Gasoline Systems experience is a plus

  • 5+ years experience in sales / marketing role in the automotive industry

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with all levels of an organization

  • Ability to deliver convincing presentation to management level

  • High level of accountability

  • Experience with competitor product analysis and consumer behavior analysis preferred

  • Proficient Excel skills (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas) required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the 5P's of marketing and their leverage in the market

  • High level of financial acumen and understanding of the bottom-line drivers in a P&L

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team

  • High degree of self-discipline, motivation, professionalism and accountability

  • Customer focus and orientation, service provider attitude

  • Being a positive ambassador of the company and strong continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability and willingness to travel, primarily domestically (20%)
