Robert Half Staff Accountant in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounts, assisting with the month-end close process, preparing financial reports, conducting variance analyses, supporting audits, improving processes, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage the reconciliation of various accounts, including bank accounts, credit card statements, intercompany accounts, and general ledger accounts.

• Assist in the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

• Conduct detailed variance analyses to identify discrepancies and unusual transactions, providing explanations and corrective actions.

• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for reconciliations and financial transactions.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reconciliations and financial reporting.

• Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant financial regulations and standards (GAAP, IFRS).

• Work closely with other departments, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury, to resolve reconciliation issues and improve overall financial processes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Ability to process Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using Yardi for property management

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information

• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
