Position Summary

Geologist/Environmental Scientist

RSI is recruiting for an early or mid-career geologist/environmental scientist with rigorous attention to detail to join our environmental services team to evaluate groundwater, surface water, and/or wetland conditions on the Department of Energy (DOE) Oak RidgeReservation. The successful candidate will support the team in developing and implementing groundwater and surface water remedies as part of the CERCLA process, ultimately working to restore groundwater and surface water to beneficial use. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate environmental data to make interpretations of subsurface geology and aquifer conditions

  • Prepare a variety of environmental documents including sampling plans, remedy completion reports and data quality assessments

  • Participate in collaborative meetings with DOE client, and regulatory agencies EPA and Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC)

  • Interface with field sampling teams to track data collection activities

Desired Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. in Geosciences, Environmental Science or other applicable physical science or engineering

  • Capable of making pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc using Microsoft Excel.

  • Familiarity with ArcPro software

  • Familiarity with well drilling or field geology principles a plus
