Job Description

As a Product Manager, you will be part of a high performing product management team and manage part of the US, Canada and Mexico product portfolio along its complete product lifecycle and ensure its profitability. This is a fast-paced and agile working environment, where your skills will be visible to multiple management functions throughout the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket organization. You will combine practical experience in car mechanics and electronics with Product Management with a hands-on role within our test lab. You will be helping create technical documentation and facilitating application tests, as well as working along with Product Managers, developing and maintaining a competitive program in the marketplace.

Product Management

  • Analyze market for growth potential, explore/identify new market requirements & opportunities, which requires close collaboration with the Trade Marketing and Sales departments

  • Analyze program gaps and competitor programs

  • Develop and define product features and benefits, USPs

  • Work with Senior Product Managers on ensuring a competitive, market relevant product program and program coverage

Technical Support

  • Create Technical Release Sheets for program development / new products

  • Plan and execute installation tests with external workshops

  • Interface with Technical Service team on quality assurance

Customer, Market and Promotional Reporting

  • Monitor and manage consolidated profitability, including product cost development

  • Trigger/initiate and follow through on Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) projects to retain profitability along the product life cycle

  • Support active, market-based price management and right product-/price positioning in the market, in collaboration with Trade Marketing and Sales

  • Support analysis and management of excess inventory

  • Analyze customer- and market requirements, based on input from trade marketing and sales, as well as based on own research

  • Maintain 'Marketing Data Warehouse' data for creation of catalogs, provide information for update of Vehicle-/Product Database and cross-reference

  • Provide necessary input (product features and benefits) to Communication team, support timely execution of plan

  • Support team members and other functions by sharing knowledge and experiences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 3-5 years of experience in a product management role, preferably in the automotive aftermarket industry. (Original equipment experience or experience in similar fields will also be considered).

  • Practical / hands-on experience with and interest in car technology

  • Proficient oral and written communication in English (Spanish or German as a second language is a plus)

  • International experience or exposure is a plus

  • Strong Entrepreneurial Mindset

  • Initiative and determination, taking ownership of and accomplishing objectives with a strong drive and energy for results and need to finish

  • High Level of Social Competence - Team player, ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to condense complex topics in verbal and written communication and presentations

  • Proficient knowledge of standard software (especially MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)

  • Good to have: MS Access, MS Project, basic SAP knowledge
