Miller Milling Overnight Manager in Oakland, California

Summary:

The Overnight Manager's role is to ensure the efficient execution of plant production activities during the evening and overnight shifts. The position is responsible for maintaining high standards in quality, customer service, safety, and cost efficiency. This includes overseeing sanitation, production processes, and preparing the plant for the day shift.

Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 annually

Primary Duties:

  • Leadership: Lead overnight activities to ensure timely delivery of top-quality grain-based products that meet customer needs.

  • Asset Reliability: Collaborate with the reliability team to maintain equipment through preventative care and operator-led maintenance.

  • Sanitation Management: Direct the sanitation team across all shifts to ensure cleanliness and compliance.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards, and sanitation practices.

  • Goal Achievement: Work towards achieving manufacturing goals and objectives.

  • Communication: Provide status updates to other department managers during morning turnover, including relaying any employee issues.

  • Cost Control: Monitor and control costs related to production, quality, and sanitation.

  • Production Monitoring: Track production volumes against plans and keep the team informed.

  • Process Improvement: Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes.

    Management Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Foster a culture of accountability, where employees are engaged and motivated to contribute ideas and efforts.

  • Training and Development: Oversee the training and development of direct reports.

  • Customer Execution: Ensure that customer service and quality objectives are met through effective management.

    Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional tasks as requested.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years experience in supervisory role

  • Flour industry experience, manufacturing or equivalent

  • Detail oriented

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work in high places

  • Willing and able to be on call for any plant related issues
