Kimley-Horn Senior Planner/Senior Project Manager - Parking and Mobility in Oakland, California

Overview

Kimley-Horn’s Parking and Mobility Planning team is growing and has a rewarding opportunity for a motivated Senior Planner/Senior Project Leader to join our Oakland, CA team. The successful candidate will be a leader in a practice specializing in parking and mobility. This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for our Planning Services practice team while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.

Responsibilities

This position will involve leading business development efforts, developing and managing relationships with key clients, and overseeing all project tasks while mentoring the growth of younger staff. The successful candidate will have a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team while building and managing relationships with key clients.

  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.

  • Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships.

  • Open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing a Parking and Mobility Planning practice.

  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.

Management responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations.

  • Identifying and tracking leads.

  • Making presentations, writing proposals and scopes of work.

  • Establish budgets, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work.

  • Accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT and production support will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

  • 15 or more years progressive in Parking and Mobility Planning leadership, operations, policy and administration.

  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.

Base Salary Range:

  • $170,000 - $230,000

  • Eligible for incentive bonus program
