PeopleReady of Ocala, FL is now hiring Flaggers! As a Flagger, you will control vehicle traffic by notifying drivers of the need for reduced speeds or restricted lane flow on roadways, parking lot or construction sites.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $13 - $16 / hour This range is a goodfaith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.

What you'll be doing as a Flagger :

  • Working with construction team to establish safe movement of traffic around construction zone, in accordance with safety regulations

  • Flagging motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead

  • Taking ownership of keeping work zone and passing cars safe

  • May need to place signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices- duties will vary according to job assignment

  • Directing traffic flow using Department of Transportation regulations

  • Responding to emergencies as directed and performing tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies

  • Not dependent on phone as it is a distraction on the jobsite during working hours

Available shifts:

Shift Timings - 2nd Shift (Evening) , 3rd Shift (Night)

Job requirements:

  • Reliable, independent transportation as driving may be necessary

  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Communication skills required - flaggers remain in constant contact with the crew

  • Able to remain in a stationary position for long periods at a time

  • Possess a valid flagger certification - PeopleReady will help provide this training
