Description

We are on the hunt for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Manufacturing industry located in Odessa, Texas. This role calls for proactive engagement in the day-to-day management of the Accounting Department, and the development of an in-depth knowledge of our operations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, supervising the accounting department, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the daily management of the Accounting Department

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations to identify key financial data and address emerging challenges and opportunities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP

• Supervise the accounting department and ensure understanding of all departmental functions

• Assist the CFO, VP of Finance and Financial Analyst with annual budget and rolling forecasts

• Perform and oversee credit card, balance sheet, and bank account reconciliations

• Oversee all fixed asset accounting, including cost analysis for purchase, inventory and valuation, and depreciation schedules

• Ensure accurate accounting of debt, including capital leases

• Work with external auditors to ensure proper accounting of acquisitions

• Assist the VP of Finance with accurate cash flow forecasting

• Build a working relationship with plant and district managers to develop strong communication in regard to their financial reporting

• Hire, train, manage and motivate accounting staff

• Ensure credit policies and practices are balanced and in place

• Ensure capital expenditures are captured and booked correctly

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Proficiency in ERP Solutions

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Auditing

• Understanding of Billing Function

• Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
