Senior Data Engineer (Data Analysis, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx)

Overview:

The Customer Intelligence Data Strategy and Enablement team is responsible for designing and surfacing critical customer data visualizations and insights to our internal and external stakeholders. Aligning to our core tenants of availability, applicability, and quality, the role will aid in requirements gathering, data modeling, dashboard design, and report writing.

The Customer Intelligence Data Strategy and Enablement team owns customer interaction data across the globe. This role partners with stakeholders across Global Customer Care, Finance, and others to ensure data is managed in an efficient and compliant manner. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of data sourcing and strategy, this role will support enablement of business users, and data scientists. This role has high visibility to the entire Global Customer Care organization and significant opportunity for skill development across data and technology disciplines.

In this role You will:

-Develop reporting solutions and dashboards for KPI and detail data for customers including Sr. Leadership, managers, and individual contributors.

  • Solicit and document key business requirements for technical deployment

  • Create supporting documentation such as ERDs, data dictionaries, and project checklists

  • Write and distribute status reports to stakeholders to communicate progress on projects involving internal and external parties

  • Assist with planning releases for data model updates, dashboards, and report versions

  • Ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones

  • Scale agile/lean practices with huddle and office hour culture

  • Develop relationships with cross-functional teams across product, legal, and engineering to execute projects

  • Lead efforts for our next generation of data storage, ETL, and other data related processes

All About You:

  • Experience with data modeling (normal forms) and dashboard/report design (Domo, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Experience with multiple ETL technologies (such as Alteryx and SSIS)

  • Strong SQL skills (5+ years SQL writing ad hoc queries, Stored Procedures, etc)

  • Familiarity with database technologies and platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, AWS, Azure, etc)

  • Perseverant and curious, with a desire and ability to solve puzzles and remove blockers in order to achieve a common goal

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to serve varying levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical audiences

  • Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment

  • Strong and driven individual performer and a proactive collaborator who makes informed decisions by seeking input and support from colleagues and stakeholders

  • Collaborative approach to moving projects forward with internal and external stakeholders

  • Adept at “knowing the audience” and conveying narrative to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $115,000 - $184,000 USD
