First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. *Position Summary: As a member of the Security Infrastructure Group (SIG) within the JIS Department, the Security Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Security Systems hardware and software related infrastructure. The SSA works within the JISD Security Infrastructure Group (SIG) as an integral part of the team under the direct supervision of the Assistant Chief Information Officer. Maintains, configures, and commissions Network Access Control, CCTV, and all related electronic security systems. Performs system design and layout. Maintains the court's card access system. Performs project management. Supervision Received: *The Security Systems Administrator reports to the Assistant Chief Information Officer for Security Infrastructure and receives general direction in performing duties in accordance with established guidelines. *Duties: • Performs regular inspections and preventative maintenance on physical security systems Servers, workstations, and access related equipment. • Assists in the development and implementation of physical security systems policies and maintaining adherence to security best practices. • Read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents as well as oversee installing contractors to ensure quality and code compliant system installations. • Supports and expands production environments, engaging in SIG operations, infrastructure design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, consultation, and vendor management. • Assists in the development of plans and contingencies for addressing physical access issues to courthouses and other related special needs. • Works with the Assistant Chief Information Officer and other members of the Security Infrastructure Group to prioritize the implementation of security initiatives and appropriate security investments based on appropriate risk assessment within the courthouses. • Researches and makes use of the best available practices and security technologies to ensure safety within all courthouses. • Participates in incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches. • Maintains CCTV systems for Trial Court Locations. • Updates configuration changes and backups to local and network settings system wide. • Monitors for system errors and faults. • Maintains DSX card access system for the Trial Court including configurations on new and existing systems. • Performs system backups and commissioning. • Provides project management for security system projects in the Trial Court and manages the install commissions. • Works with Court Capital Projects to ensure security systems are installed to Trial Court standards and policy. • Provides systems design and layout. • Performs other duties as required. Continuous Learning Demonstrates a commitment to continuously improving himself or herself through professional development Minimum Requirements: • Associate degree from an accredited college or technical institute with concentration in Physical Security Systems, IT Networking, or computer science and five (5) years of demonstrated security systems management experience in ACS, CCTV and IDS programming, Security Systems Administrator; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. • Operational knowledge of and experience in computer driven complex physical security systems. • Demonstrated experience in the design, installation, programming, and maintenance of CCTV, ACS and IDS Systems and the interface of these systems as part of an integrated and comprehensive security plan for a large facility. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels, including judges, and to maintain effective working relationships. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. • Strong project management skills, the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organization wide program over the longer term. • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. • Ability to establish work priorities. • Ability to evaluate security needs of courthouses and to develop feasible solutions. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to travel to all court locations throughout the Commonwealth. Employment with the Trial Court is contingent upon passage of a criminal record check.
