OGDEN WEBER COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP Early Head Start Teacher in OGDEN, Utah

Summary:

Our organization, Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), is searching for someone who is driven to do truly meaningful work and will make a difference in families' day-to-day lives. As our supportive Early Head Start Teacher you will develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities for the children in our Early Head Start program. Because you prefer steady, well-defined work, you will be heavily relied on in this role as you follow consistent routines which include feeding, toileting, and other regular activities of our young students. As our Early Head Start Teacher, you will not only build strong bonds with the children, but you will also maintain effective relationships with parents to ensure they are equipped with the tools to help their children succeed in their present and future environments.

What you'll need to be our EHS Teacher: 

  • Unselfish and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work

  • Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work

  • Patient, conscientious, relaxed and cooperative team member

  • An associate, CDA, baccalaureate or an advanced degree in early childhood education; or a degree in a field established by OWCAP as related with early childhood classes as determined by the Head Start Act

  • One year's experience in teaching infants, toddlers or two year olds, preferred

  • What you'll do as the EHS Teacher: 

    • Implement approved curriculums
    • Individualize for each child through ongoing observations and data collection
    • Plan, implement and evaluate daily, developmentally appropriate activities
    • Provide quality teacher-child interactions and work on building trust relationships with all children, parents and staff
    • With parental involvement, develop daily routines, which are developmentally appropriate, and address each child's specific strengths and needs
    • Follow consistent routines, which include feeding, diapering and toileting, napping and planned small and large group experiences
    • Set up, prepare and conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences
    • Follow proper feeding requirements and conduct family-style meal and snack times and ensure compliance with Head Start standards, USDA/CACFP, Child Care Licensing, and Caring for our Children National Standards
    • Utilize Active Supervision at all times. Ensure child safety by never leaving them alone.
    • Provide guidance and training for substitutes, new-hires and volunteers
