Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Pediatric Hospitalists)

This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join the newly created Pediatric Hospitalist team at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Working throughout the hospital, the APP will primarily provide care on the general pediatric unit, cover routine newborn care in the well-baby nursery and consult in the emergency department. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

This is a full time, fully benefits-eligible opportunity. The APP will work primarily on the third shift, with scheduling anticipated to be 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 15 shifts per month, though this may vary to meet patient care needs.

With 310 licensed beds, it is the third largest hospital in the Intermountain system, and the fourth largest hospital in Utah.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;

  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;

  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;

  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;

  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;

  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;

  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;

  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.

  • and -

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.

BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$54.84 - $84.63
