Akima Electronics Technician I in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Our Electronic Technician is a member of a multi-functional team providing Technical Support Services for the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, OK.

The Electronic Technician's technical and functional tasks spectrum include providing electronic technician services to the various FAALC Product Divisions to help assure that electronic systems, subsystems, and components meet serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements. These services may include tasks such as electronic system/subsystem/component troubleshooting, repair, assembly, refurbishment, installation, calibration, and testing. This could include test fixture and prototype design, analysis of equipment performance, data collection and equipment installation.

The Electronic Technician shall complete all tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders and technical instructions. Standard individual administrative tasks including recording individual time, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties. Responsibilities

  • Attend all training classes, including all safety-related courses, as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for all systems.

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and Corrective Maintenance (CM's) on FAA and interagency systems.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic/electro-mechanical systems to include:

  • fault isolation, removal, and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU’s) required to return the system to full operational capability. Training, procedures, or guidance will be provided.

  • Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC).

  • Enter time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours.

  • Keep Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.

  • Perform corrosion control and prevention.

  • Install electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.

  • Apply basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, and perform such tasks as:

  • replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic components and equipment to return unserviceable equipment to serviceable status.

  • Items to be repaired may include electronic assemblies and components, electronic cables and wiring harnesses, circuit cards, prototype, test fixtures and test beds. The repair process may include functions such as item disassembly/assembly, circuit analysis, item repair, and parts replacement with possible performance analysis.

  • Assemble cables, wiring harnesses, circuit cards, and other electronic assemblies and components based on FAALC provided technical documentation; install and perform test and calibration functions for this equipment.

  • Install electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, modifications and engineering prototypes; performs adjustment, test, and certification functions on equipment.

  • Work under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.

  • Travel up to 70%.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses OR Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.

  • Travel up to 70% of the time.

  • NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is desired.
