Actalent Mechanical Design Engineer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description

The Project Engineer at Tinker AFB will perform mechanical engineering design tasks such as code research, mechanical design/load calculations, and drafting in CAD. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of construction documents under the licensed Project Engineer’s supervision, field work, inspections, and other duties as assigned. - Assist with the evaluation of projects to determine the most appropriate and economical systems to serve a facility. - Assist with the preparation of, or prepares, original design and preliminary and final design of mechanical projects, including size, capacity, and economy. - Perform HVAC designs for projects such as single or multi-storied barracks; academic complexes; aircraft flight control or simulation facilities; administrative, dining, and multipurpose centers; medical complexes; schools, child development centers; chapels; industrial, manufacturing, and special process facilities; warehouse and storage buildings; machine shops; vehicle, weapons, and fuel cell repair shops; recreation and resource operations buildings; commissaries; refrigeration and cold storage buildings; aircraft corrosion control and paint stripping facilities. - Participate in on-site inspections. - Produce plans, diagrams, reports, and assist with specifications. - Assist in preparation of cost estimates. - Assist in preparation of inspection reports. - Prepare required documentation to ensure project designs are suitable for solicitation through the base contracting office.

Work Environment

Sit on base at Tinker with military and civilian professionals. - 90/10% Office/Field work ratio - Frequent work performed in a climate-controlled office environment - Occasional work at job site Will be working as a part of the CSAG team in Building 3001.
