Responsibilities

A Regional Retail Lending Specialist is responsible for promoting the bank to current and prospective customers in their county, as well as, surrounding counties. They provide training, as well as, production and support for residential mortgages and home equities for branches in their designated region. They are responsible to prepare mortgage loans and supporting documents; attend mortgage closings; make business development calls on prospective customers for small business lending; and may originate consumer loans.

  • Prepare mortgage loan and supporting documents, soliciting new business from present and prospective customers.
  • Maintain ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Make outside business development calls on present and prospective customers; and support small business lending goals.
  • Provide training and support, for residential mortgages, home equity, small business lending and retail lending for area branches.
  • Provide direct service to customers of the bank with respect to loans and approves or rejects loan applications within individual lending authority.
  • Comply with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
  • Respond to inquiries relating to own particular area, or to request from other bank personnel, customers, etc.; within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed
  • Actively participate in the community in a manner that reflects favorably on the bank.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion
  • As an integral member of the assigned branch office, this position is responsible to assist the branch, as well as the bank, in achieving their annual goals.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent training preferred.
  • Specialized banking and lending education/training.
  • Valid Driver License.

Skills:

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relationship, communication and sales skills.
  • PC knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact consumer services.
  • Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services, with emphasis on lending.
  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate the Company's core values: a strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, responsibility, transparency and humility.

Experience:

  • Six (6) years of experience in banking, including three (3) years of experience in a related lending position is normally required

Candidates being considered for this position will be subject to additional background checks as required by regulations. Employees in this job must register and comply with all rules and regulations of The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (The SAFE Act). Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements, in Community Bank's sole discretion, under Reg. Z, prior to acting as a loan originator in a consumer credit transaction secured by a dwelling. Qualification requirements include but are not limited to an assessment of overall financial responsibility, character, and general fitness through review of a criminal background check, and credit report.
