Need 1 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworker to work in Olivia, MN. From: 08/05/2024 - 02/28/2025 Work: 36 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 6 hrs./day Hours may vary. Possibility of overtime. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) a year. No work required on the worker s Sabbath or Federal holidays, but work is required six (6) hours per day Monday through Saturday. All applicants must be able (with or without reasonable accommodation), willing, and qualified to perform all the work described, and must be available for the entire anticipated period of employment. Must Apply By: 11/17/2024 JOB DUTIES: Workers will process and bag seed corn. Must be able to work long hours, where conditions may be hot and humid, the majority of the workday is spent standing. Must be able to lift 68 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 68 lbs. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. Work closely with supervisor to ensure that seed packages meet customer requirements. Perform all duties safely and in compliance with company QMS program. Operate bagging equipment according to instructions. Perform regular scale weight checks. Ensure proper set up of ink jet bag labeling. Ensure the bag labels are accurate, neat, legible and professional in appearance. Apply appropriate tags and/or labels to the seed packages. Accurate bagged seed inventory counts. Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity. Ensuring that seed pallets are neatly stacked and securely wrapped prior to placement in the warehouse. Assist with maintenance activities. Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area. Re-bag Duties: In addition to the duties listed above, re-bag operations require the employee to verify the contents of each bag of seed prior to dumping. Warehouse Operators: in addition to any of the duties above, the warehouse operators are responsible for ensuring accurate inventory counts when shipping or receiving seed into the warehouse, accurate completion of all shipping paperwork, ensuring that all shipments are ready for loading based on customer requests, maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse, accurately recording ALL row location information within RIC, assisting with building and/or forklift maintenance as required. Packaging Operators work closely with the Packaging Supervisor and Plant Operations Manager to ensure that seed packages are labeled legibly and accurately according to customer instructions. Other essential job functions may include but not limited to: Performing work activities safely, application of appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages as applicable, accurate bagged seed inventory counts, lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time, lifting and stacking material at or above shoulder height for extended periods of time, standing to fill and close packaged product for extended periods of time, successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operators certificate. Safely climb stairs and/or ladders to monitor and adjust equipment. Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity. Assist with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System. Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area. Prepare and clean (if needed) packaging materials to be used according to customer specifications. This would include boxes, bulk bags, and paper bags. Warehouse Operators work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction by accurately storing and shipping seed invent ry to customers. Other essential job functions may include but not limited to performing work activities safely, staging customer deliveries to ensure that products are ready per customer request, lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time. Lifting and stacking material at or above shoulder height for extended periods of time. Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operator's certificate Verify the accuracy of staged loads for shipments Ensuring accurate reporting of inventory activity including counts, product location and timely submission of paperwork. Maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse. Follow all Quality Management System processes and procedures. Assisting with building and/or forklift maintenance as requested, maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area, dumping of packaged material for all true bulk loads, clean-Up, assist with clean ups in receiving, conditioning, treating, packaging, and warehouse areas. Conditioning Operators work closely with the Conditioning Supervisor and Plant Operations Manager to ensure that all conditioning runs meet customer quality requirements, while also attempting to maximize the total number of units bagged from each run. Utilizes computers to record and locate information as needed. Operating seed conditioning equipment according to instructions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) months experience. Must be able to lift 68 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and be able to lift and carry 68 lbs. Must be able to work on your feet, in extreme weather, with extensive, pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. Pre-hire criminal background check at employer's expense. Possible random drug or alcohol tests after hire, at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
