Express Employment Resource Development and Events Manager in Olympia, Washington

Express is now hiring for a Resource Development and Events Manager at a local non-profit organization based out of Olympia, WA. This is an evaluation-permanent opportunity. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. The compensation for this position will be $60,000/yr.

*Job Duties: *This position will plan and implement all organization events. Duties will include event coordination, securing event sponsorships, event related marketing, and volunteer coordination.

 

EVENT COORDINATION

  • Project management including: locations, timelines, logistics, and all event details.
  • Work with Resource Development staff to build, coordinate, maintain, and grow contact lists for each event.
  • Manage all potential venue and vendor relationships and communication throughout the planning process.
  • Recruit, grow, train, and manage event volunteers.
  • Secure, coordinate, and communicate event support responsibilities and logistic needs with staff and volunteers assigned to help with the day of event execution.
  • Oversees event marketing and promotion.
  • Coordinate ticket promotion and sales when needed.
  • Manage all guest relations, volunteer coordination, and logistics for the day of events -- troubleshooting any challenges to ensure the event runs smoothly.
  • Align all events with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Reports fiscal results to the finance department.
  • Conduct post-event analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.

SPONSORSHIPS

  • Work with organization staff to build the initial pool of potential sponsors.
  • Coordinate, maintain, and grow potential event sponsorships through healthy corporate relationships.
  • Develop sponsorship benefit packages.
  • Secure organizational events sponsors through corporate relationships.
  • Secure event-specific sponsors through corporate relationships.
  • Secure in-kind donations for events.
  • Follow through on all benefits for sponsors -- social media feature, thank you gifts, etc.

*MARKETING & BRANDING SUPPORT                                                                             *

  • Provide event information to the marketing department for the organization's website, newsletter, and social media promotion.
  • Procure and research event-related and branded supplies as needed -- including easels, tablecloths, signage, banners, backdrops, etc.

OTHER

  • Assist with other Resource Development tasks as needed.
  • Develop positive relationships with the community of Thurston County.
  • Represent the organization at local events and meetings, promoting the organization's mission and objectives as needed.

Job Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in marketing, communications or related field or equivalent experience.

2 years of directly related meeting/event coordination experience or equivalent combination. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
