Overview
We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to work in the Renewed Hope Boutique (RHB) on the CUMC-Bergan campus. RHB is an outpatient boutique in the hospital setting.
A requirement for this job is the candidate must be willing to be educated and trained to become a certified mastectomy fitter. They would work with breast cancer patients fitting breast prosthetics, ordering their product and dealing with breast cancer patients at a tough time in their life. The women who come to RHB are referred from physicians, nurses, social workers, oncology staff, friends, etc. They may come for a pre-surgical consultation before their breast surgery. The women will have had either a lumpectomy or unilateral or bilateral mastectomies and require proper prosthetic fit, balance and symmetry.
The person would be working with a clinical cosmetologist in the RHB who sees all wig and hair care patients. This individual is also a certified mastectomy fitter.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of medical assisting program
Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Expectations: Willing to be educated and trained to b e a certifieed mastectomy fitter
PREFERRED Qualifications: Experience in a cancer or breast health/women's setting
Pay Range
$17.89 - $24.60 /hour
