A Brief Overview

The Clinical Effectiveness Project Manager is responsible for leading projects that integrate clinical knowledge, performance improvement, and change management methodologies to improve clinical outcomes enterprise-wide. This position will facilitate between clinical leaders and teams to promote the development and utilization of clinical pathways to reduce variations in care and serve as a clinical quality improvement champion to improve clinical outcomes using data.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate Clinical Pathways • Coordinate the Clinical Pathway Committee with the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer and Clinical Effectiveness Program Manager, as well as a diverse group of clinical leaders to develop, update, and organize Children's Hospital & Medical Center’s clinical pathways and related order sets, policies, and website • Update and maintain standardized format/template for clinical pathways as well as a unified submission and review process • Prioritize clinical pathways based on institutional needs and available resources • Lead pathway development teams in the creation and implementation of new clinical pathways • Lead pathway development teams to review and update existing clinical pathways • Integrate data analysis into the clinical pathway process and ensure all clinical pathways have metrics which include process, outcome, and balance measures • Actively takes a role in the data analysis and performance outcome data associated with clinical pathways across the institution

  • Lead Clinical Quality Improvement Projects • Lead working groups to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate continuous clinical quality improvement • Develop expert knowledge on quality improvement framework at the microsystem level • Validate and monitor metrics to drive continuous quality improvement • Work with clinicians to increase adoption and promote continuous quality improvement • Coordinate with department and division physician leaders as well as other clinical leaders to identify opportunities to decrease clinical practice variation and improve quality of care • Conduct literature searches of the subject matter both independently and in collaboration with the key clinical stakeholders to foster evidence-informed practice when applicable • Collaborate with clinical informatics and care transformation departments, using available informatic tools/reports/dashboards to monitor quality improvement • Ensures clinical outcome data is routinely shared with clinical stakeholders.

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree In Nursing, Informatics, Healthcare related field from an accredited college or university Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare-related performance/process improvement or project management Required and

  • Minimum three years clinical experience required, preferably in pediatrics Required and

  • Experience in people management within a project Required and

  • Experience in change management Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience with literature searches and grading of clinical evidence

  • Strong written, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in presenting communicating, and interacting effectively with medical staff and management at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects with general supervision

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio

  • Familiarity with data management including interpreting, comprehending, and summarizing statistical and medical data

  • EPIC knowledge preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in state of NE/Compact state required if position filled by a nurse Required and

  • BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association is required if position is filled by a nurse Required and

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification within 1 Year Required and

  • CPN - Certified Pediatric Nurse Preferred
