Boys Town High Performance Computing Software Analyst in Omaha, Nebraska

We are adding a High-Performance Computing Software Analyst to our Enterprise Applications area. This role entails a variety of responsibilities to support staff including onboarding staff, training staff, writing documentation and how-to wikis, providing technical support and script writing support, software integration support, and software performance optimization. We are looking for an individual with technical proficiency, problem solving skills, programming skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Provides technical support and troubleshooting for software applications, ensuring user issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

  • Provides timely and effective support to end users regarding how to use software features and resolve problems.

  • Creates and maintains documentation such as user guides, troubleshooting guides, and onboarding documents.

  • Conducts training sessions for users to help them understand and use software effectively.

  • Works closely with staff, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure software issues are addressed effectively.

  • Participates in establishing and maintaining development standards.

  • Coordinates activities with internal staff, software vendors, and other users to meet system objectives.

  • Participates in software and project testing to ensure new features or updates meet quality standards.

  • Remains up to date with new software use cases and technologies to enhance support capabilities.

  • Develops and maintains high customer satisfaction while working in partnership with vendors, cross-functional teams and management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux systems.

  • Experience with MathWorks MATLAB programming platform.

  • Working knowledge with Python programming language.

  • Strong understanding of version controls system, such as GitHub.

  • Strong technical writing capabilities.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a background of providing excellent systems support required

  • Experience with creating bash scripts required.

  • Experience with MathWorks MATLAB programming platform required.

  • Experience with software testing and quality assurance processes required.

  • Ability to on-call to provide additional support and/or may require work to be performed outside of traditional business hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems preferred.

  • Technical certifications preferred.

  • Experience with parallel programming techniques preferred.

  • Experience with Docker container environments preferred.

  • Knowledge of High Performance Computing (Slurm) environment and concepts preferred.
